![]() I have an 83' 5.0 HO with auto trans. Anyway, I pushed my gas pedal down before I started it as I usually do. When I started it the throttle cable apparently got stuck and the rpms revved all the way up to 6000 rpm. I turned the engine off as soon as I realized what was happening which is about when it hit 6000 rpm. Do you think my engine is in trouble or it won't last very long now? I drove it home afterward and it seemed fine, good oil pressure etc. I have fresh Castrol 20-50 in it not sure if this makes a difference or not. It isn't leaking any fluids. Thanks for the help.
