I share your anger... we thought we had mine fixed... I turned it down a half turn then I took the wife to the post office after getting gas and POOF!!! Started again after 7 or 8 minutes! Mine is doing exactly what you are describing. I don't think mine was fuel pressure after all- a half turn shouldn't cause that.
My friend still maintains that it is caused by the Pickup Coil in the distributor that costs around $15.00. But you have to take the distributor apart to fix it. I'm gonna try that this weekend. Note that I had my control module tested and that was bad so I changed that 2 weeks ago. This is really starting to get under my skin!

Hey Bud- Did you ever get her moving again? I just bought my pick-up coil but I haven't had time to tinker with it. Let me know how it goes!

Yeah I didn't even try! Well Bud, I changed my distributor out completely, and it started dying on me... Then we upped the fuel through the fpr again, and she runs like a champ! So I don't think it was any one thing in my case, I believe it was Vacuum/Fuel/Distributor.

i don't mean to throw a curve ball here, but...
I had the same problems that you've been describing. I even went as far as redoing a tune-up, and still had problems.
Well.. I got that 'funny feeling' about the MAE (mass air element) being dirty or broken. So I disconnected my MAC cold air induction, took out the mass air sensor part and gave it a good clean with electromotive spray cleaner ($4 or so at your local parts store). Be careful since there's a tiny sensor element which could get damaged if hit. After drying the part on the sun (and also cleaning the whole air filter assembly), I fire the car up and...bammm! no more hesitations or sputters, problem was solved.
I think what happens is that a dirty or broken sensor sends a faulty signal to the EEC causing the air/fuel ratio calculations to be offset and hence tricking the throttle body and injector performance...don;t quote me, this is just an educated guess..

Air filters which require oiling will do that to mass air flow sensors.
