Need Help with heads
I have a 90gt, this is my first mustang or v8 I ever owned and as of now I have whats listed below only the gears headers and exhaust are installed everything from the upper and lower intake, TB and GT40p heads are under my bed, I'm looking into some rr's and a cam I have neither yet, My car is a daily driver and will see the track maybe a few times a year whats a good combination for rr's to cam I hear the 1.7's with a B cam is very nice for what I use my car for but I wanna hear everyones suggestions. Also my buddy owns a machine shop that does head work ive never done this to any car but now seems like a good time to maybe port-n-polish or maybe a 3angle on these heads now whats everyones opinion on that also cause I heard dont do it unless your gonna port everything, sorry for the long questions hope someone can help.

Go to this link, and just scan down to the GT40p head section. Lots of good info.

My opinion on the roller rockers is, go with 1.6's ... thats the way Ford designed that motor .... the reason people go to the 1.7's is its a quick way to bump up the lift and the effective duration without changing the cam. Match the cam with the 1.6's to start then if you feel you need a little more lift and duration, you can get it without changing the cam by going to the 1.7's ... by the way the 1.7's do put more stress on your valve train.
As far as RR brand, i got the scorpions. Haven't used them yet but the form fit and finish is great, and they very resonable, (under 200 bucks). Head wise ... anything you can afford to do, do it, but make sure who ever does it knows what they are doing or they won't work as well as stock ones do ! |
where did you get the scorpions for under 200? cheapest i have seen em here are $240.

They don't seem to have the prices listed now, so you may have to call him. I bought mine a few months back and i believe they were either $189 or $199 ??? |
