ONLY 20% water?

Get a new radiator, my car was the same.

I had to get a electric fan and a 3 core brass radiator.

I run 90/10 or maybe 95/5 water/coolant, and water wetter, Permacool 16" electric fan, no underdrive on the water pump 180 thermo, and it runs great.

Are your head gaskets installed the correct way? If reversed they block off coolant passages in the heads.

Print and save this one. It's perfect.

If you still have the stock radiator, get rid of it...get a big aftermarket one...you'll be glad you did. I have an aluminum radiator...edelbrock water pump, 180 degree thermostat, and an electirc fan and never have problems like I did with the stock equipment.

You can get an Autozone or Pep Boys 3 row radiator for like $100-$120. Cheap insurance for your $1000 heads. Do what Skyman did and you'll be fine, he has a little experience with this stuff.

No parts house carries a better radiator for my year...
