Question Need help please.... Doing gear swap

I'm about halfway through my gear swap. I'm replacing the 2.73's for 4.10's and was wondering if anyone had it work out with the original shims staying in the same spot? I bought my gears from Ford Racing. Does the larger ring gear get compensated enough by the smaller pinion to make it work out. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks, James
