Default Weird Muffler Crackle

I have 2 chamber Flowmasters. There is a "crackle" noise coming from the driver side muffler. All my connections are tight and nothing is rubbing against the tail pipe. There is no visible damage on the muffler itself. The engine timing is normal at 10 degree.

The crackle noise is evident in the mornings at cold starts and decreases slightly when it's warmed up.

Any ideas of what could be causing this? Muffler ping or something?

I had something like that happen to my truck. Noise in one muffler. Was told it was valves but it turned out to be bad baffles in the muffler itself.

I second the motion ablout the baffles. I had a piece of catalyst come loose and go into my muffler and it made a ton of noise. It's lesser when hot because the metal expands and the loose piece doesnt vibrate as much because of the reduces clearances.

Thanks. I got it resolved.

It was indeed the baffles. It took her to a muffler shop because i noticed that the exhaust was leaking from the muffler to tail pipe weld.

The guy bumped the muffler with his hand and it sounded different than the other muffler. I agreed to have it replaced and when shook the old muffler... rattle. rattle.
