Need quick reply.... C/C plate install
I hate it when this happens - once again.
I am trying to get my MAC caster camber plates installed tonight. Scheduled an alignment for tomarrow morning and then Autocross on Sunday...... The instructions say nothing about what to do with the cover that goes over the top half of the strut. It says take the stock bracket out and install their "L-bracket". When I try to leave the cover on, the strut shaft does not come through the top bushing far enough to thread the top nut. It looks like the shaft will come up farther through the top bushing if I take the cover off but it seems strange to not have the cover on. I would think the cover should be there to protect the strut shaft/seals from road gunk. What's up with this. I knew I should have done this earlier in the week so I could have called MAC but now I'm stuck in a tight spot. Anybody done these MAC plates (or any other brands)? Thanks, Dan |
Yep, common problem on C/C plates...
You can run without covers (temporarily) while you get a fix idea. Might look into some motorcross dirtbike covers, and get creative. I run min wihout covers, but 3K miles per yaer, and 1/2 of that on a track... |
