Hayne's makes a pretty good book. It covers all Ford rwd automatics. I bought mine at
Autozone. Your also better of getting a later model C-4 with a 26 spline input shaft. Also look for a case fill instead of a pan fill. (It saves room). And try to find a small bellhouseing as well. I have an ATI C-4 and it has about 1000 miles on it and suddenly it has no 3rd or reverse anymore. I checked everything and can't figure it out. ATI said something about a high speed clutch, and it isn't warrantied. If anybody can help me that would be great. Good luck |
unless you know alot about automatics
fixing them ony your own is like playin russian roulette there are alot of small things that can break/ wreck big expensive things, eg an improporly sequenced torqued valve body can warp causing cross pressure which can cause the tranny to engage 2 gears at high rpms VERY BAD btw I learned my experience now i get the local tranny shop to fix stuff for me |
