Question need some help what to do

hello all
i have a 89 notchback that i do not know what to do with it has a 351 from a 91 f 150 in it installed by the owner before me with a aod trans i think that i am going to cnvert to a 5 speed so i wanted to know do you think i should keep that motor build it replace it go back to a roller 302 do not know if 351 is roller any help would be great i need some help with this car any one in the atlanta area that i could talk to about it would help me out a lot thanks for any ideas

I don't know about that vintage of motor, but I would think that it's a roller, if not there are conversion kits. I would say by all means keep it, no replacement for displacement! Slap some good heads on there, and you can kill.

Keep the 351! Especially if it has all the accessories already on it (ac, power steering water pump headers etc.) Lots of mustang owners wish they had a 351 in their stang but it costs too much to convert it over. If your car is nice and the motor is good, work with what you have. After all, there's no replacement for displacement.

what about the cam if it is a roller how can i tell also i smell gas when i opean the trunk what can make this happen thanks
