Need a torque wrench.....sugestions
I'm looking for a nice quality torque wrench. What brand/type do you guys suggest. I want a good one, but I'm broke so I wanna stay under $100 bucks.

I've got a Craftsman 3/8 drive. About $80 I think.

Don't skimp when it comes to tools like this. Craftsman is probably ok, but I really don't like mine. I had one that broke after about a year, and thats with a very small amount of use. Then the one I got to replace it seems like it is starting to go bad as well, when I pulled the headgaskets off recently, I measured the compressed thickness, and the top part of the ring was 0.010" thicker than the lower part. Now I know this could be other things as well, but I am somewhat suspecting the torque wrench. (Yes I release the tension in the wrench after every use)
I would reccomend selling that damn sub you are tryin to dish off on me and buy a Mac, Snapon/Bluepoint, or Matco wrench. |

How much would one of those wrenchs run? Where's PKRWUD when you need him:D |
i am a aircraft mechanic and work with tourque wrenches everyday. i would suggest spending the money and buying a good one ( snap on or mac) i have seen to many guy's buy craftsman's and ones from home depot and other palces and when they send them out to get calibrated (which you have to every year if you work on aircraft it is a federal law) they are out of calibration and because they are such poor quality there is no way to fix them.
