New Canton Oil pan leaking from drain plugs?
It's a brand new pan for a 351W swap and at the rear drain plug I see a drip of oil all the time once the engine cools down. Anyone ever use a Canton pan and have this problem?? Also, this is kind of unrelated but if my main seal was leaking a little how would I know it?

My Canton pan for the 351 leaked from the fron and rear drain plugs. Just cranked them down seemed to help. |
I have the same problem on my '89 with the original pan. Try using some teflon tape, and fiber or copper washers instead of the plastic/nylon washers.

It could be worse, mine leaks from the welds.

I finally figured out where it's leaking from. It the freakin bolts that you screw into the back of the pan (by the flywheel)! They are really tight. Can't get much tighter, plus they got lock tight on them http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif At least it's not my rear main seal.
