Default Side Exit Exhausts

This idea just popped into my head and i don't know how its actually going to turn out but i'de thought I'de ask to see if anyone has done it before. Basically can i take some 2.5 inch pipe and bend it so i have an exhaust pipe exiting the car right in front of each rear tire? I mean i know i could bend the pipe to do it, but is there a way to get a muffler in there so im not running open headers out the side of the car? and if i could get a muffler in there, would it give me more power then the flowmaster system w/ a offroad h? I searched the archives anddidn't find an exact answer to this... all that was said was to go buy the borla side exit exhaust...

Also, a little off the subject, what does "moot" stand for?

my mustang has side exit exhaust, bought it that way.. comes straight off the headers to a y, then into glass packs and out the side (one branch on the y has a removable plate to run open headers)..

from what i've been told, 302's like an h-pipe.
