Post Notchy Shifting??

Does The t-5 shift notchy or does it just move smoothly from gear to gear?? When i shift it has a bit of a pause between gears instead of being one smooth motion. is this normal or is it something with my clutch somewhere??

My T5 seems to be a little notchy. I hate it because I can not shoft veryy fast. I have driven a 98 that has a T45 and it was a lot smoother.

Mine is the same way. Don't shift a t-56 in a new F-body. You'll get depressed. You can effortlessly powershift any gear.

Yea shifting a f-bod...nothing like powershifting into reverse.

Naw but t-5's do feel notchy, i wouldnt worry about it unless you hear grinding, but when im racing, my t-5 feels like it goes into gear fine just barely pushing in the clutch, and its worn (clutch)

Hah...i have a 95gt and my freind has a 94-6 cylinder. Mine and his are notchy.....as are any other t5's i've driven....i talked to a clutch and tranny place about and they said it was completely normal that they were suppose to be that way...its the type of tranny it is...notchy doesn't mean you can't shift fast...it just takes a different art to do it.

I've owned 2 mustangs and both had a notchy feel to the shifting as well. Does anyone else get a kind of clunk feeling while shifting and letting off the gas? I noticed that if i slightly rev-match the gears it doesn't do it, but if i let off the gas while shifting sometimes it feels like the clutch catches suddenly or something....it happened with both of my mustangs.... whatever, i can live with it.

When I put Amsoil in my T-5 the difference was unreal. Told a buddy about how it smooth it was he took my car out for a spin and was sold Amsoil synthetics. Give it a try.

My T-5 shifts notchy but it grabs like a mother^%%&$# when i beat on it at the track.
I've heard about the Amsoil but haven't tried it yet. Every Stang i've driven has had that feel. I think it's just the way they are.

How do i shift quick then?? should i just pull hard right through the pause or what??
I thinks thats where i am losing my time then, if i could get into 2nd quicker then i could drop my et to where it should be.
