Why not put a turbo on the 'stang?
Everyone talks of superchargers when they put any kind of poweradder on the Mustang, that or NOS. But twin turbos have had great success on v8 engines, so why aren't there any Mustangs with that setup?

The supercharger kits are more common, more complete and easier to tune in most applications. Incon has a complete kit, but it is Hella expensive.

PureStreet got it. superchargers are a lot easier to install, and easier to tune, maintain and most of all a LOT cheaper. you can get a 9lb supercharger kit with everything for what, 3k? the incon kit is something lik 6k. there is another company that offers a tt kit for the 5 liter as well, and i would assume it is simillarly priced.

I had a cartech kit on my car and we just could not get it to run right, with out spending big bucks for DFI OR SPEED-PRO. Everyone had ideas but nothing CHEAP worked I ended up trading the kit for a S-trim. Lot easier to tune, and a lot more people have supercharged set-ups to help answer questions. Still later on down the road when I have a chunk of cash I still will put a turbo on. It looks so mean and sounds great! And you can make some crazy power.

these guys are right about most of the stuff, its cheaper, easier to install, & more common.
The reason the incon kit is $3995 (not 6k) is because it comes with the turbos, ehaust tubing, intercooler, fuel pump, maf, injectors, custom computer, and it can be adjusted from 7psi to 25psi (something which most blowers cant do) the incon kit alone on a COMPLETLY stock 5.0 will make around 350rwhp at 7psi with no tuning. 10psi (on the same motor) & it can go 11s easy. i would take a turbo over a blower any day. its your choice..... ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT, T-5 3.08's, No Smog Pump (Shorty Belt), Dumps At The End Of Stock H-Pipe, K&N Air Filter (Stock Air Box), Removed Air SilencerMy Stang My Site (Not Done Yet) |

Oh ya, turbos make more power, because they use exhause gases to spin the turbine, where as blowers take power from your motor to turn a belt.

ya, turbos are much more efficient because they use exhaust gas, some are upwards of 90% efficient. they also have alternate uses: http://www.asciimation.co.nz/turbine
