Recieved the following from NOS tech support, please read (long)
Below is what I sent and what NOS emailed me back with, The original message is underneath, I was hoping someone could explain to me what that part number consists of (for running fuel from the main line to the fuel solenoid)
Also he/she states ". As for the jets, there will be 2 for the nitrous and fuel. They are as follows: " Do they mean there are 4 jets in total for the bigshot plate ? and also "PS The fuel jets must be the saphire jets Pt number 13740-(size), other jet pt numbers are 13750-(size)" Do they mean the other jets as in, for the nitrous jet, use part number 13750-(size) or do they mean that normal fuel jets are that part number, but instead i should use the saphire ones, what is the diff ? Below is the email I'll just paste it in : You will need part number 15805nos to allow the fue solenoid to get fuel straight off the main line into the fuel rail for anything over 150 Hp. As for the jets, there will be 2 for the nitrous and fuel. They are as follows: N/F HP 38/24 150 45/30 200 55/32 250 63/36 300 Nos Tech Dept PS The fuel jets must be the saphire jets Pt number 13740-(size), other jet pt numbers are 13750-(size) ----- Original Message ----- From: reply@support.holley.com To: mike_flynn@support.holley.com Sent: Monday, January 29, 2001 7:39 PM Subject: Jetting sizes [T200101300020Z92957] Sender : a1a71134@telus.net Tracking Number : T200101300020Z92957 Pool : nos Sent to : <nos@support.holley.com> Date : 1/29/01 9:45 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I was hoping you could recomend some jetting sizes for my specific application. I am using a pieced together simple nitrous system on my 5.0L Mustang. I am planning on using the plate injector which goes between the upper and lower intake manifolds. First, does the plate injector use a single Nitrous jet and a single Fuel Jet ? Or does it use an individual one for each intake port ? I am using a NOS Super pro shot solenoid on the nitrous side, and a Cheater solenoid on the fuel side. As I understand it, each of these (in theory) can flow up to 400 hp worth of hp gain ? The nitrous solenoid is fed by a -10 line from a 10lb bottle, and then into a smaller line which would run to the plate, I suspect its a -8 line. Currently the fuel solenoid is fed by a line which is tapped into the fuel injector rail. Provided my fuel pump(s) are up to the task, will this provide the solenoid with enough pressure to avoid running lean ? I plan to jet for 150hp and then work my way up to 250 horsepower. If this will not provide enough fuel, can you recomend a better way to plumb it ? And normally how would a wet NOS nitrous kit be plumbed for fuel on a 5L mustang ? If you could give me some basic Jet sizes to work with I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time. the saphire jets are from my understanding, a precision made jet that is produced to closer tolorances than the regular ones made.
the part # works like this:[br] type of jet (an size/type)[br] 13740- [br] size of jet [br] 24 [br] you put em together [br] 13740-24 [br] N/F HP [br] 38/24 150 [br] 45/30 200 [br] 55/32 250 [br] 63/36 300 [br] in the table above n is for nitrous, f for fuel...I dont know if I helped or just told you what you already knew...lol |
