Gear ratio depends on your tire size and your trap speed RPM. On the bottle, with a 26" tire, I would say eithier 3.73 or 4.10.
The AODs biggest weak point is the input shaft, which has been known to break on stock engines.
Get a one piece input shaft, non-lockup PI stallion converter (2800 RPM stall), make sure the tranny is in good shape, if not rebuild it with blue plate clutches, and do a shift kit or valve body modificatons. You can eliminate the 1-D-1 shuffle to hold second gear with a Lentech valve body or others (GER does it also), or you could get a Baumann shift kit that holds the shift points higher and just leave it in drive. I think you can take them up to around 5400 RPM with the baumann, which isnt bad, depending o your engine combo and what RPM you want to shift at.
