nitrous dry kit question
Hi guys ! I have a 88 gt SD and it will soon have stock ported heads and intake and 1.7 rr with the stock cam. I would like to had a stage 1 dry nitrous kit. I don't know how i will need to raise the fuel pressure before the use of nitrous. Can it be to much for the the stock injector? I'm speed density so i can't change the injector. The stock injector can handle a 150 hp shot, they should do the job for my setup ?!!!?

I have a Stage 2 dry kit on my set up now and if you talk to NOS they will highly advise that you put a Booster pump in line Prefer a T-Rex or a NOS pump. And when you hit the NOS it will automaticlly boost the fuel pressure. A intake pump alone will not carry the pressure. It has to have at least 85lb pressure all the time or it will surge and run lean. I am running a 150hp shot on Stock 19lb injectors at 88lb of pressure on a STOCK MOTOR with 4.10 gears and AOD with Lentech 10"Converter and Valvebody with a Transbrake. Best time 12.08@108.85 60ft 1.592
Good Luck and Hang on if you go with a 150 shot!!!! |

just be cool.
There is no reason to go 150 right now. start w/ 75....then when you get dialed in...up it to 100...eventually you will shoot 150. 75-125 will just need a change of jets. After that...a change in the spacer in the regulator is needed. |

I'm running the NOS dry and have it jetted to 125hp (started at 75 first). Running that without a problem on my 190lph intank and 24lb injectors. Any higher and I can tell you that an inline is required.
NOS_Notch is right, stay with the 75 til you get things dialed in, going too big right away may create some problems. |

Thanks to everyone who post me a reply. I already have a 155 lph in tank pump. I think that the booster pump come on the stage 2 kit( am i right?). I don't plan to go with a 150 hp shot, but if the stage 2 come with the booster pump and i can adjust it to 75 hp i will go for it. Is it a good choice?

Speaking of ZEX... is anyone out there runnning their kit? I've done some research on them and have been impressed with their systems. I am thinking of buying their kit.

You can get the stage 2 kit, just keep the jets in the pressure tee, and the main nozzle at the 75 hp level, and do not put the shim into the nitrous regulator. And just put the inline pump in to be safe, even tho I think 155 lph pump is adequate for 75hp.
I recently saw a friend of mine's ZEX kit, and they look so simple to install its almost funny. Maybe something to look into as opposed to the dry kit. |
