Nitrous use?
I have my nitrous kit here, but I dont know how to install the fuel line. It is a wet kit. Where do I hook it to? Other than that it all seems fiarly easy. Do I put the spray plate infront or behind the EGR? does it matter?
Also how do you guys spray the nos. Do you just have a throttle switch so that it shuts off when you shift gears or what. Or do you just let your finger off the button between gears? I am not for sure how it is hooked up but a buddy of mine has a nitrous express wet kit and it only sprays when he is at wide open throttle..So between shifts when one lets off the gas it stops spraying.

you can hook the fuel line up to the shrader valve on the fuel line. there should be a special fitting for it. as for shifting, i stay on the button while i shift but i shift very well and quick. you should let off the button when you shift till you get use to the feel. its not good to miss a shift on the juice.

I run a WOT switch myself. I am a very good and seasoned driver, but everyone makes a mistake here and there, and mistake on juice usually isn't a good one, so I would just let off the gas a tad on shifts like I do. It still nets me almost 2 full seconds in the 1/4. As for the Fuel line, I have a dry kit and have never worked with Wet so I can't help you there. Good Luck and Happy Spraying.

Thanks guys. Well I ordered a shift knob button and a WOT throttle switch all inconjunction with an arming switch. So I should be pretty well off as far as the switches go now.
Do you guys have a bottle pressure valve? How many runs will I be able to see at 100hp setting? From a full bottle? Also what do you do if you leave your car out in the sun on a hot day? Could the bottle overheat and explode?! One last question do you guys use remote openers at all? Thanks... Also I could not get my TB and EGR apart so I ended up mounting the nitrous plate behind the EGR instead of infront of it like i heard was recommended. It didnt seem like it would really make that much difference... Is it that big a deal ?

No, it's not a big deal. As long as there is nothing blocking the nozzle.
A bottle pressure valve is a good idea. Try to keep it between 900-1000psi. If the bottle heats up in the sun, the pressure blow-off disc in the valve will pop, and all of the nitrous will be vented out of the bottle in one big swoosh. ------------------ Moxie Racing The Nitrous Oxide Information Site |
I ran mine with a WOT switch, an RPM switch & the main arming switch mounted below the shift knob. I set the rpm switch bellow the factory rev limiter since it cuts fuel out. Plus that way I could power shift & not worry about over revs.
|
Just buy an MSD Window Switch and you could turn the nos on at 2800 RPM and off at 6000 RPM.
|
The window switch is the way to go if you are running a stick. I just have the WOT switch and arming switch on mine but I am running an AOD. The fuel line on my Compucar kit hooked into the test port on the fuel line.

Hey sky, where are you mounting the bottle?
I would definatly suggest a remote bottle valve if you are putting it out of reach. It's a little pricey but DAMN it's nice to have! Are you getting the timing control? |
