nos & timing controller

Hi everybody i just purchased a msd timing controller the one you can adjust inside the car up to 15 degrees what i wanted to know can this be used when i use nitrous or do i have to set the timing with the distributor also when i set up the timing control do i leave the base timing at 15 and then adjust the timing with the knob.

just put the same thing in my car last week.
Yes, you can use it with nitrous. When you are going to install it, check your timing first. mark at 10 deg and what also what you usually run it at. Install it and set the knob to what your timing was at. start it up and check it again making sure there was no change. Make sure it is working by turning the knob to 10 and then checking it one last time.

if it is off then you are going to have to play with the dist. to get it on the mark. once that is done you should be fine.

So i should set the base timing at 10 degrees with a timing light then say turn the knob to 15 degrees and check the timing with the light and it should say 15 degrees i thuoght i had to set base timing at 15 and if i wanted to turn it down i would just turn the knob to say 8 degree when using nos. thanx

How much NOS will you be spraying??
Seems to me you would set your initial to about 8* that way if you're spraying 150shot you can just turn your dial to 8*.
What is it...retard 1 or 2 degrees for 150 shot??
Not sure tho.JMO!
Good Luck!!

Ok, I understand what you are saying now...Yes, you can set your base timing at 15 deg and then just adjust it with the knob whaen you are going to use the nos.

Ok i hate to be a pain can i also leave it at 10 degrees so i can increase and decrease timing. When you got your timing controller what did the instructions say about base timing or what timing did they tell you to put it at. Also i'm running a 100 shot.
