Default Bbk/edelbrock Throttle Body Sticking

I have a bbk/edelbrock 75mm throttle body on my 95gt and the darn thing is really sticky, when i floor it in first it likes to stick at full throttle for about a second. sometimes does this in second gear too. with this throttle body the return spring was a little too short and now the throttle is really hard to push. i was just wondering if anyone has had this prob. i have an edelbrock intake and the throttle body adapter on it too.

I had a BBK/Edelbrock 70mm TB, and it did the same exact thing. It was real sticky, and embarrassing to drive with a passenger, I'm sure they thought I was a real ******* for going full throttle everytime I took off. It was a pain to drive, I took it off and sold it. But my suggestion is to lube the cable up really good, and I think it'll help. If I buy another TB, I'm going with a Holley.

I had the same thing happening with mine. My problem was the throttle blade holding the butterfly valve inside had broke right where the screw holds it on. You might just peek inside and see if anything is broke.

I don't think a 70mm would hurt your performance at all, I think it would help out. 75mm is pretty big for a N/A 306. Throttle body's aren't cheap though we all know that, so I would try and make yours work. The Holley is more expensive too, with it being like $229-39?+TB spacer at like $90ish?, I have no experience with the Holley TB though, so I can't tell you that it wouldn't do the same thing. I've never heard any complaints though, & it's polished. Why don't you give BBK/Edelbrock a call, and see what they think about the problem? Then if you can't get it fixed, & they can't tell you what the deal is, sell it, and try out a Holley.
