Novi 2000, 351W in a '94 GT
Anyone know of somebody that's made a bracket to mount a novi 2000 on a 351W in a '94? The 93 bracket is built for a considerably different offset for the accessories and the Paxton guys tell me that the bracket built for a 94 302 won't fit either.

jesus christ man, you're looking to make LOTS OF POWER!
Sorry i can't help you, but keep us posted on how your car is going. ------------------ '84 Mustang 5.0 LX My car |
I am in the same situation as yourself, I built a injected 351w for my 91 and I wanted a ATI D1SC but the only way to make it work was to use there renege set up, but I would have to lose my PS and AC. The other kits they have would require a lot of bracket modification that I did not feel comfortable with after spending $3,800.
I am ordering a Vortech T Trim from Alternative Auto, who makes a bracket for the Vortech to fit the 351w. I think they have also modified Paxton brackets in the past you might want to give them a call. Alternative Auto Performance 145 Malow Unit D - Mt. So I talked to a guy who told me that the 94 302 bracket will work, there is just an un-used hole that was supposed to attach to the block. I'm planning to look into that so I'll keep the list informed.

It may work, but the blower may sit way to high causing hood clearence problems. Just a thought. Let me know what you find out. |
"jesus christ man, you're looking to make LOTS OF POWER!"
there is never too much power... i have a buddie that has a 351 SN95 dynoed at 330RWHP with no blower and he just ordered a T or an S trim (cant remember) so talk about power... ------------------ ALL NEW PPG Torch Red 95GT, 304ci block, Forged pistons, Ported Explorer Intake, E-303 cam, fully ported and polished and milled E-7 heads, 75mm MAS, BBK Adj. fuel Reg & gauge, BBK Shorty Headers, BBK H-pipe, March Pulleys, 2 Chamber Flowmasters, Kenny Brown 6 point Roll cage, Kenny Brown Panhard Bar, Powerslot Rotors, PBR twin piston calipers, Eibach Sportline Springs, 180* Thermostat, 1/2 Plenum Spacer, MSD 6AL, MSD Master Blaster, MSD 8.8 Wires, 24# Racing Injectors, AFS 10.5" Cobra R's, Nit |
Yeah, he did say the guy was running a Cobra R hood to solve the clearance issue. Pretty much my plan as well since mine probably won't clear the stock hood without the charger. And yep, we plan to make some big power. The motor is built to about 460 horses at 8.5:1 compression so when the blower is on it, now we're talkin'. And a street car to boot.
black '94 convertible GT 8 pt roll bar tied into subframe connectors HPM suspension Coil over springs and tubular K 31 spline 8.8 rear (3.73) with Auburn Pro (and it's still probably not strong enough) 335/35 R17's on the back (strapped to 10.5"x17" Cobra R style wheels) Tremec TKO 351W stroked to 396 Victor Jr. heads ported TFS EFI intake Novi 2000 and all the support hardware to make it go |
my setup doesnt even clear the stock hood i needed to cut a hole in the support to make it clear any thing taller i would need an R hood And yes my buddie is Running an R hood it comes damn close to that hood even... 480 horses!!! damn please teach those camaros, wait no vettes whos the boss!!!

DAMN! STROKED 351W! And the NOVI 2000... What kind of rear wheel HP are you looking to produce? I'm looking into building a 351 stroker for my 94, and just haven't came to a decision yet.
That sounds like you are not looking to play around! Have fun with that beast! Dan |
Figure about 700hp when all is said and done. Obviously there is a ton of fuel stuff we had to do in addition to the motor etc. I kinda started out with more modest intentions, but the project ballooned into something more. It's definitely work in progress right now.
If you're thinking of doing a 351, just make sure you plan it out carefully so that all the parts work well with each other. (and I plan to show the Vipers out there just what's going on) |
The current 302 setup I have produces 325RWHP, but like anything dealing with HP... ITS JUST NOT ENOUGH! So out with the 302, and in with the ???
What were the biggest problems you ran into while getting the 351W block and associated STUFF into your SN95? |
That's a good question, and when we've stuffed it back in, I'll let you know. The motor is still sitting on the stand while I piece together the S/C stuff. (Which is very quickly becoming the biggest headache yet)

grayvader:
What headers and exhaust are you using in this buildup? I have seen plenty of headers for a 351 in a 79-93 car, but none for the 94+ SN95 cars other than the ones a Saleen S-351 would use, which I believe are out of production.... |
Since I've installed a tubular K-member I've freed up a lot of room for the headers to clear. Anyway, I'll probably end up with some custom made Kooks headers.
