NOVI 2000 kit: what all comes with it?
Hey everybody. I've decided to go with a Novi 2000 blower for several reasons. It won't be until prolly later this fall that I can afford to do it, but I need to know a couple of things about the kit, part number 1001810: Does it come with an MSD 6BTM ignition box? A bypass valve? Fuel pump(s) of any kind? An FMU?
I would find these things out from Paxton's website, but right now (and for the past few months) it's been a mess. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif If someone could list the components here or email me a list or something, it'd be greatly appreciated. Oh, don't think at all that I'm strapping a Novi 2000 to my stock 5.0. Hell no. This puppy's getting a full-blown blueprint & rebuild in addition to some nice speed parts long before that. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif ------------------ Capri306, Moderator, The Mustang Works Online 1979 Mercury Capri, 5.0L -- C4 -- 2.73 1987 Mustang LX Notch |
Ask Sisustang I know he's running a Novi 2000,he should be able to give you the info you need http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

The Novi 2000 kit comes with FMU, small blow off valve, in tank fuel pump, rad hose "tube" to clear the blower/brackets (& of course the brackets, belts, pulleys, etc.).
It does not come with the MSD 6BTM, which is a bummer...I would highly suggest getting one of those. They forgot to send a 2nd idler pulley with my kit. Make sure that you get one with yours. You should get one tensioner/idler & one stationary idler pulley. ------------------ 91 coupe 3.73's,long tubes,2 1/2" exh, ported stock t-body,ProM-77mm cobra intake, edelbrock heads,B303,1.72 rr's 36lb inj's,tremec, & a Paxton NOVI 2000!!! 11.020 @128.95 on BFG Drag Radials (275/60/15) |
Thanks for your help Mustanguy and SisuStang!!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif Now I can finally get the other things I need, including the 6 BTM box. It does seem strange indeed that a unit that comes stock with 8 pounds wouldn't have a spark retard, much less a spark intensifier (CD). Odd.
That's a nice ¼ mile time, Sisu. You're only 0.021 away from a 10 sec timeslip! Pretty much where I'm aiming for with my daily driver Notchback. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/rolleyes.gif http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/eek.gif http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/cool.gif Long as I'm not hard into it driving to work or college & back every day I think it should live a long life...or at least I'm hoping. We'll see. Thanks for the heads up on the pulley, too! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif ------------------ Capri306, Moderator, The Mustang Works Online 1979 Mercury Capri, 5.0L -- C4 -- 2.73 1987 Mustang LX Notch |
No probs, Capri, & thanks for the comments on the car.
Some of you Michigan guys should come out to J&P's race. Unfortunately for you, they moved it from St Thomas Dragway (only about 2 1/2 hrs from Detroit) to Cayuga (maybe 3 1/2 hrs). It's on Aug 17-19. I'll robably be racing in the radial tire class. If I wanted a 10 sec slip, I'd just have to borrow someone's slick's. I still have stock axles, so I haven't been willing to chance it yet. I do want to crack into the 10's on the drag radials this year, tho... |
