![]() I got the tranny in last thursday and i love it except for one thing, and that is it shifts really "new". Have to use some force to change gears. How long does this last by the way?
I got it from D&D performance in michigan and Don the owner just retired from Ford last july and started up his business. In fact hes the one that designed the AOD T-5Z and many other ford trannys. Very knowledgable person. Me and a buddy talked to him for about an hour and it seemed that there was nothing he didnt know. My brain was going crazy just being able to talk to someone who knows so much haha. Good business, Id recommend them, plus he gave me a good deal on the tranny but I didnt say so! ------------------ 1987 black with t-tops. Cobra intake, 1.7 cobra crane rollers, gt40p's, bbk shorties, off road h-pipe, adj. FPR, rebuilt aod w/shift kit, 65mm TB, 4.10's 12.90's at best probably less, oops I mean worse. *** AOD's. IT'S MANUAL! Now for the T-5z! Semper Fi |

![]() That's interesting, since the T-5 is a Borg Warner German design. Borg Warner was bought out by Tremec, you may want to look on your tranny, you'll see the Tremec casting on it.
Don must have spent some time in Germany too, under the Borg Warner name back in the early 80's when the T-5 was originally penned. I have a D&D T-5z myself. Nice tranny. |
