Oh Noooo! Oil in the cylinder?
Just looked at my #5 cylinder and saw a thin film of oil all down the cylinder head and then pulled the plug and the threads are covered in oil.
Going to get a vacuum gauge now. The engine only has about 5000 miles on it. Did I blow the head gasket already or is it a ring? |
Sounds more like a valve cover gasket to me. There shouldn't be any oil coming out of a head gasket.

Freakin weirdest thing...
the oil is definitely emanating from the plug hole/cylinder.
The area above the spark plug to the valve cover is spotless. The sparkplug was loose in the seat though, less than hand tight. and it almost looks as if it was shooting out from the plug if that's possible because the plug boot has a spray pattern on it. |
Like 89 ATI said it could be from the valve cover gasket,or should I say-hope its from there. If its coming out of the cylinder you ve got ring problems in that cylinder.I would think the plug would be oil fouled if thats the trouble.Good luck dude.
