Oil Burning Smell

Hi, My car has a bad oil burning smell comming from the engine area, I replaced the valve cover gaskets, and the rear main seal. Now the guys at the shop say my pan seal is leaking some and after looking I agree that it is a little bit. My question is, where else can this burning oil smell come from? Its not comming out of the exhaust pipes, the car doesnt smoke. Is the EGR not venting the emissions right? How can the oil get onto the outter part of the exhaust to burn and smell? It on a 89 GT 5.0 :( It seems like before I got the rear main seal replaced that it was worse of a smell, also when i accellerate when driving it seems i can smell it more. Even when i turn the car off it smells for a good 30-45min till it cools off. help!! pls, thanks

Re: Oil Burning Smell

well i crawled under there, and found that there is a 1 inch broken out area in the rubber pan seal, so could the smell be comming from that hole? from the engine venting there?
