Question oil change

About how much oil do you guys put back in after an oil change? I read everywhere its 5 quarts with filter change. Usually my car only takes about 4 quarts and it marks full on the dip stick. Last time I put 4 1/2 and it was over the limit. even after running the car it still stays the same. I usualy check it in the morning after the car has been sitting all night.

Your 5-liter will take five quarts. The first time I changed my oil, five quarts showed over full. I contacted Ford dealer and they told me some of the dip sticks where not stamped right. When my car is running at idle it shows full on dip stick. I dont know if some oil runs out of front sump to the rear to show this over full amount on dip stick when you turn off motor or whats up. For peace of mind you can take an awl and put a mark at full, but allways run five quarts.
