Old block new bearings
Are you able to put new bearings and rings in without getting anything prepped or checked? This is assuming that the bores are still within the tolerances.

Getting everything mic'd and checked is definitley the best way and only way to know if everything's cool. But if you don't have access to any mics or bore gauges and didn't have any oil pressure problems or any knocking, banging noises, give the bearings and journals a very close look. Can you catch your fingernail on lines on the journals?Do the bearings show any dirt or particles in them?If not, then check the new bearings using plastigage. You will need to hone the cylinders to get the new rings to seat.

I would definately hone it. As for problems, none with oil pressure, no knocks and no smoke.
