If you are looking for a limited slip, I like the Auburn Pro. Several others here like it too. Do a search.

with the heat generated out of the differential, I always assumed that probably broke down the properties of the oil over time.

My limited slip clutches always wore out (20,000 miles) long before the gear oil could wear out, LOL. I finally went to the Auburn Pro recently just for that very reason. I'll just have to wait to see how long it lasts.

Replace the clutches in the rear end with carbon fiber clutches. They come stock in 03 cobra's and you can buy them on ebay for 80 bux.

I have the carbon fiber clutches in my rear end with 3.73 gears and I am pulling mid 1.6 60 fts.

As far as getting the old ones out just remove the S spring and they come right out.
