Jim is a wise man. I'm somewhat of a fool. You can cap it without any ill effects to your cars performance, but a canister is what you should use. They don't rob any power at all, yet some people feel they must remove them. I never understood that. Keep in mind that those fumes would be burned in your engine if you had a properly functioning charcoal canister installed.
