Opinions on new motor.
I'm having problems right now, and it is looking to be either a bad valve or O2 sensors. If it turns out to be a bad valve I am gonna do a complete rebuild becuase the car has 105k on it. Here is my dilemma.
One of my friends from a local board has a balanced and blueprinted 306 with a girdle, mild cam and ported '69 heads. My other choice I have is a guy I work with has a brother. He has a Fox with a carburated 351 in it, with a Wolverine cam and mild headwork that he is parting out. I can probably pick the 351 up pretty cheap and not sure about the 306 yet. If I was to get the 351, how much of a pain in the a$$ would it be to get this to run right with the EEC-IV I have and what Intake would I need to make it EFI? If I was to keep it carburated what would I have to do? It is running a T5 now, so I think it would bolt right up to mine, but I'm not positive as it is a FOX and mine is a SN-95. I just need some opinions and advice, I'm not sure if I even have to do this but I want to have my ducks in a row, so to speak, if the need arises. Thanks in advance. ------------------ My 94 GT http://members.home.net/caruso14/fasford2.jpg |
