![]() I decided to plop a new injected 347 motor into my 84 after getting tired of the lousy six with cfi. After getting deals on the rods and the crank Im kinda lost on the pistons. The few sets I've seen have the pin up inside the oil ring. Won't this cause oil to slip behind the ring into the chamber? Is there pistons that have the rings stacked closer together keeping the pin seperate?
Thanks |

![]() The oil ring and the piston pin thing has been proven wrong. Can't remember where I read it but it said that oil problems were due to poor machine work and assembly (spelling?) and blamed it on the oil ring thing. Me and many others have 347's with the oil ring in the piston pin area and still have no oil problems.

![]() Thats cool. I was getting worried about burning even more oil then with the 6. Does anyone use those Keith Black 347 pistons? The price is right but that usally means lower quality. Plus I might add a mild blower after I get the car running.

![]() Just thought of something else... I'm not positive but I don't think all stroker kits are all the same. I think some stroker kits mess with rod legnth and piston pin height trying to get a better rod ratio. I don't think that you can just order a set of pistons for a 347 and get off that easy. You should check into this or maybe someone else could comment on this.
