Ouick Help... with Rocker install!!!!!!!1
I have stud munted ones on the Bolt should I use Lock Tight on the Studs to the Rocker Arm Bolts???? HELP RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!! THX

I am still waiting !!!!!!!! Come on!!!!!!
|
I don't think you put thread locker on the nuts that hold the rocker down, just the stud going into the head. I've never heard of putting loctite on the nut but I know that having the nuts back out is a problem for some people, I had one back out on me last night as a matter of fact. I just retightened them and torqued the crap out of the set screw.

Sorry Matt. My wife took me out for my B-Day so I just got your message. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use Loc Tite on the rockers. I don't have any on mine and they are fine. I do know that you'll want to use some Anti-Sieze on the spark plugs to keep them from freezing up in the heads.
What all kind of paperwork came with the AFR heads? |
I had a little problem with mine coming loose and coming off, I thought it was just me because I did not have much experience putting them on so I took it to a shop and told them what they were doing and they tightened them for me and some of them came off again. I used loc tight on mine and have not had a problem since.
You should not have to but for some reason I did. |
I have it all done and Well DONT EVERY PUT LOCK TIGHT ON THEM...... 3HR to take off NEVER USE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!USE!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT!!!!!
Hope any others that read it NEver Try it I did not break the heads or any part of the Motor BUT I did a Wrench...... Trust me Dont!!!!! |
That's weird, I did not have any problem getting mine off when I pulled the motor and I removed the rockers.

What color loc-tite did you use? Blue loc-tite should never harden that much, but red will. If you use blue you should be O.K. |
RED!!!!!!!! RED!!!!!!!!
