![]() want to pick one up, 130 or 200 amp? have a 1 amp stereo system and will intall pulleys also, but i think i will 130 should be good.
as for the power wire, i figure i might as well upgrade to the 4 gauge thats recommended. should i buy there standard or premium? long or short? my batt and selenoid are in stock locations. short or long wire? or am i better off buying the 4 gauge wire on my own and adding my own 200 amp in line fuse? will it be cheaper? they want like $30-58!! thanks.

![]() I bought their stuff instead of tracking it down. Good instructions helps me, and their 4 guage kit has it.

![]() Hey Ghettopop,
Let me know how it all goes when you're done. The alternator is so weak on the damn car that it's sucks. I found that my car doesn't run a consistent 14 volts at idle. I've been considering the upgrade as well to prevent the battery drain when running the stereo. It's even worse when I have to use the rear defroster, the voltage drops a lot.

![]() after reading PA's website, looking like fox bodies with alternator on one side and battery on the other require the LONG 4gauge wire. i think the premium is supposed to cause less stero interference. $58 , oh well, i will post my results.
by the way, if u run a stock alternator and idle with headlights, heat, defroster, aftermarket stereo, or just some of those things, u will actually be losing battery power at idle, NOT CHARGING!

![]() We put a PA-PERFORMANCE alt and kit in, easy to install, great instructions, support really good. We've got an 88GT and I believe we got the long 4AMP kit, you can call their hotline and they'll help you with which wire-kit to get.

![]() I ended up buying all my wiring and whatnot from Parts Express online. I probably cost me 15 bucks less doing it this way and I ended up with better stuff (gold plate contacts, etc.) and an extra fuses. They were the best place I could find that had parts that were comparable to the PA stuff.
