Post Painting trim and below...

Hey gang I am trying to figure out the cost of painting the trim and below the trim all around the car, I will be using the same color, just wanted to clean her up a bit, you know (tiny chips, rocks, sand, etc.) Has anyone done this before and if you are painting the car the same color what prep is needed, can you paint over paint>?? and then clear coat it..Or do I have to treat it as new and sand, prime, and paint, then clear. Thanks
