Post carb tuning

hey carb guys. I installed a brand new Edelbrock 1406 carb (600 CFM, elec choke, mechanical secondaries) on my project car. The car idles smooth, accelerates smooth, and smokes the tires like nobody's business. My problem is with part throttle operation. When I barely touch the gas while cruising, say on the highway or something, there is a slight stumble. If i give it more pedal, she is fine. You guys know what causes that?
