holley systemax II people please respond
what are you guys running with your holley package? I would think mine should be faster w/o juice. the best time i had was a 13.5 at 105 i believe. what is your FP at, and where is your timing ( although i am running juice). thanks,
i have 30# injectors in there which i think are too big.

No heads or cam according to your mods list. If its a stock motor thats about what you will get. 13.5 on a stock motor isn't bad. was that on juice? Stock timing with juice 12 degrees maybe 10 depending.

it actually has a cam and the holley heads that came with the kit. the best was 13.5 w/o juice w/ a 2.1 (?) 60 foot time on street tires. 12.8 w/ juice on DR's.
I actually just checked timing and it was at 10! I am going to bring it up to 16 to see if it makes a difference. should be safe with nitrous still! if the timing was that retarded, would that cause a lean condition?

yea Bump it up, 10 degrees is to low. 16-12 is good, just be careful on the juice. I would try 14 then see if it knocks, if not bump to 16 etc. What gears you running?

bumped it to about 16 and drove it around. seemed to be much peppier. i think i was changing the timing wrong before (putting the spout back in before shutting car off!!!!!!) anyway i have 3.55's in her (wish they were 3.73's).
what will the knock sound like with juice? also, i have a buck/pop sound when i am in 2nd gear and high rpm's and give it q

i believe the exhaust, it doesnt do it all the time. but when its cold most often and every once in a while when it is warm.

Hmm, what is your fuel pressure set at? Do you have a air fuel mixture gauge? You fuel isn't set right, some exhausts pop from the design of the internal baffles but I would say you need to fine tune your fuel. If you read your spark plugs that will give you a good indication of either rich or lean.

i believe it is set at 38-40. i remember having to make sure it was up a bit for the nitrous. maybe my exhausts are filled with catalytic coinverter pieces?

ok, it is for sure coming from exhaust. it did it again yesterday when the motor was cold. i had to accelerate slowly to avoid the poppping. any idea what causes this? thanks,
jim

I would set that fuel pressure up to about 45psi, now you don't have cats on this car do ya? If you do get rid of them. If you want to make any kind of power they have to go. Also check you MAT sensor (manifold air temp ). there a cheap sensor like 10 bucks. What mass air sensor are you running? But I would take a spark plug out and read it.

i actaully do have anh-pipe with cats. i will have to try and hollow them out (if you know an easy way, let me know). FP would cause the popping? What do you mean by mass air sensor? I know that is a dumb question, but i think have one running for 30# injectors if that makes sense. I have a BBK cold air intake with the fender cone thingy.
I pulled the number 5 spark plu and it looks like thetop piece that bends over is all white. underneath where the spark is is dark colored black. what doe sthis mean? after, i also bumped the FP up to 43 and drove it around. could tell a difference. maybe i need a dyno tune but i hate to spend all that money. oh yeah 88, you in rochester NY? im in fairport.

dyno tuning is the only way you are going to get all the power you want out of it.
