Question PERFORMER RPM OR GT 40

I HAVE A GT 40 INTAKE WITH PORTED LOWER. I WAS WONDERING IF A PERFORMER RPM WOULD BE A BETTER INTAKE. I HAVE HEARD THAT THE PERFORMER RPM FLOWS BETTER THAN A STOCK GT 40 BUT MY GT 40 IS PORTED. IM THINKING THAT I SHOULD JUST STAY WITH THE GT 40.

Stick with the GT-40. It's a good flowing intake that keeps your lower rpm power up as well.

The performer may flow a little better than a lower ported GT-40, but not enough to worry about, you wouldn't want the performer if you were making more hp than the GT-40 could support anyway as there are better intakes than the Edelbrock out there.

There are plenty of good intakes out there. What have you done to warrant an intake swap? A stock gt40 is good to about 400-425 HP, yours ported is maybe good to 450. Thats alot of hp for street driven rides. I recently installed a cobra and cam on my steed, I ported the lower and heads myself and have no probs w/ flow, @ least that I know of. I've never dynoed my ride, but to get the correct air fuel ratio it is a good idea. I personally would leave well enough alone. John

Cool

WELL I WAS THINKING THAT I COULD GET A LITTLE MORE OUT OF IT ON BOTTLE WITH THE RPM BUT I THINK IT WONT MAKE THAT MUCH DIFFERANCE. I WILL JUST STAY WITH THE GT 40.
I THINK MY CAR IS DOING PRETTY GOOD ON THE BOTTLE. 11.51 @123. I DIDNT THINK IT WOULD DO THAT WITH THE MODS I HAVE.
