Pi Stallion...it Arrived!
Heyooo, well after a mixup with the company not getting my shipping address right I finally got my converter. non lock up 2800 stall speed. I'm gonna be installing this thing soon, probably with some help from Drtbker and another friend of mine. Any tips on the installation and stuff to watch out for? we won't be using a tranny jack so what's the best way to get that aod down with just a regular jack? I guess that's what i'm really asking...THANX!

Check out my site in my sig for a brief overview of the install. We used a floor jack with a box to get the tranny out.
Also, there was a thread on here a few weeks ago in which we gave some tips. Take care and good luck. --nathan |
Get the car as high as you can on 4 jackstands. Try to position the jackstands so they will be out of your way as much as possible while your working under there. Put floorjack under tranny pan and use that to support it during removal.
To facilitate installation, jack up the front of the motor slightly and hold it up with another jack or some wood blocks under the oil pan or something. Having the motor angled back slightly makes the install and lining up the converter to the flexplate much easier. |
2 guys will make things a lot easier. I did it by myself, and it was fun! When you install the new converter make sure its seated all the way on the splines. Lift and turn by the knob on the back of the converter to ensure proper seating. A converter not installed properly will damage the front pump on the tranny and you'll end up frying the tranny. Oh and make sure you don't forget to reconnect the TV cable when your all done!
