![]() HOW do you know when your car is pinging is there a sound or a knock or bad throtle response ? I have been adjusting my timing I was told to put it at around 14 adv and if it pings back it off a little I did and the car runs like a RAPED APE with no problems .I have a cam, and gt 40 heads and all the good stuff on my car, I dont know what size because they were on there when I bought it. Will they cause any problems with pinging.? I do only use 92+ octane. Do I go higher or lower, this is a dailey driver.

![]() You can usualyy hear the pinging when you floor it, although even though you dont hear it, it doesnt mean it isnt pinging.
14* with 92+ octane is fine, you have no reason to worry. I've even had my car up to 18* with no pinging that I could hear but just to make sure, I took it down to 16* You're ok with 14, go run the crap out of it!
