![]() I'm hoping somebody can help me....Just had a 255lph fuel pump and 30lb injectors installed.. Car runs very badly..Planning on picking up, and installing a vortech MAF calibrated for my injectors tonight.. Will this solve my problem, or do I also need to get an AFR? Thanks in advance for the help!!

![]() Definitely a MAF issue...
just out of curiousity...who told you to get 30lb injectors? Do you have a supercharger or nitrous I don't know about...if not...that is probably too much injector for your setup. 24lbs should be right up your alley. They are good to just over 400 hp on a naturally aspirated car.

![]() Thanks for the reply.. I was told by a bunch of people that if I planned future mods, to go with the 30 #'rs to avoid having to do it again. Also, a good posibility of a SC in my future.

![]() a calibrated meter and a afr is recommend, however your car will still run bad since those injectors and pump you have are way too big. unless you have a 10 sec car you dont need that kind of fuel. as for the people who told you to do that ask them how they determined that.where in l.i are you from? out near ronkonkama by any chance?

![]() Money can be an issue...but doing things right can be very rewarding. I hope the MAF helps enough, but for what you have I wouldn't have gone any bigger than 24lb's...it will cost more to upgrade down the road, but at least your car would be running great until then. Tell me how everything goes.

![]() Anybody know what fuel pressure I should be running with my setup? The car seems to run really well with the new MAF..Idles better than it did with the stock pump, inj. and MAF, but, I have no idea what FP I should run now.. Any ideas? Many thanks!!

![]() Do you know roughly what HP you are running? With 30lbers I am saying that fuel pressure will probably have to be set pretty low...maybe 38 or 39 pounds...There is a fuel pressure calculator on this web page that should give you a base...and you can work from there.

![]() I was told I should be putting 290-300 hp to the rear wheels.. I don't know how accurate that is, or whether it would be more with the fuel system upgrades. I need to strap it to a dyno, but, shortage of $$ doesn't allow

![]() I plugged in your numbers to the calculator and this is what I got...
FUEL SYSTEM ANALYSIS Total fuel consumption under wide open throttle: 150 lbs/hr Minimum fuel pump volume required: 90 L/hr Optimum fuel pump volume required: 108 L/hr Injector size needed at stock pressure (40 psi): 21 lb/hr Pressure required on current injectors to simulate needed size: 20 PSI FMU Required on Current Injectors: N/A Your current injector status is: OVER INJECTED See what I mean...with friends like yours, who needs enemys? ![]()

![]() Even with 24lb injectors the calculator recommends using the stock 19lbers.
FUEL SYSTEM ANALYSIS Total fuel consumption under wide open throttle: 150 lbs/hr Minimum fuel pump volume required: 90 L/hr Optimum fuel pump volume required: 108 L/hr Injector size needed at stock pressure (40 psi): 21 lb/hr Pressure required on current injectors to simulate needed size: 32 PSI FMU Required on Current Injectors: N/A Your current injector status is: IN THE SAFE ZONE, But it may be better to run a smaller injector using more pressure My recommendation....buy a supercharger to compensate. lol ![]()
