If its a small 1/4NPT allen plug near the front right (passenger) side of the motor just below the heads, then that's a water jacket plug. Very useful for draining coolant before head removal. There's a similar one on the back left that drains the driver's side of the engine. You could try some local heat and penetrating oil but if you end up rounding it off you'll either have to let it go or drill & easy-out it. It'd be tough to try and get enough to grip onto with vise-grips.
