port and polish

How hard is it to port and polish you heads and intake. Is it worth it. Do you get any real gains.

i wouldnt bother doing any kind of work on a 3.8 if thats what your thinking.

but if your doing E7 302 heads, then it is definately worth it. I did it and noticed quite a bit of gain for the work i had in it. I did most of the work myself with the help of 302man. If you had a shop port your stock heads then its not worth the money, but if you do it yourself then its worth it.

i wish I had an electronic copy to post to you, but I have a magazine at home where they pump up a 96 or so (not the new 99+ 3.8) to 320 rear wheel HP..

Basically, it was Supercharged to the max, ported intake, larger t-body, MAC headers and full exhaust, new heads (or machined stock heads).. Steeda and Kenny Brown are starting to come out with stuff for the 3.8.. but 320 rear wheel HP from a 3.8, that's amazing, so, if you wanna try it out, I'd say go for it..

Also, you might want to verify this, but can you not grab the heads, intake, t-body, cam, exhaust from a 99+ V6, and dump them on yours? Similar to the 96-98 4.6 2v folks putting on the 99+ 4.6 2v parts for instant 250+ HP...

So, there is a lot of work that can also be done to the 3.8's as well.. good luck

Thanks Jet. You can not swap the heads and intake with the 99+ engines because they are set up totally different. Trust me I have looked into that. It would be cheaper just to put a bigger engine in.
