Default Dyno numbers

I just got off the dyno and am pretty happy. With the combo below I got 298.2 hp and 328.2 torque on a Mustang dyno. I still was a little rich like 11-1 but I had the fuel pressure at 36 and he didn't think I should go any lower. I had a goal of 300 but I guess this is close enough. I will take it to the track in a few weeks and see what it runs.

Switch to a holley intake and you'll probaly see 310. Nice numbers by the way.

Default Dyno...

89 ATI,
My dyno results today were poor, 255 RWHP and I was really expecting a little more.
How do the AFR's stand against TFS heads? I am wondering if my GT-40 intake is costing me potential power.
Just curious. My goal is mid 300's natural and then I'm going to a blower.

Nice Craig

Where was the dyno at that you went to?

I'd like to see what I'm putting out, but it would probably be an extreme disappointment.
Plus my combo isnt anywhere near complete anyway.

Don't feel so bad guys, I too was disappointed with my dyno numbers. I was shooting for 400rwhp and come up with only 339.5rwhp and an wopping 316.1 ft lbs.

I had 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 long tubes (way to big for my little 306). I changed to 1 5/8 - 1 3/4 and could immediately tell the difference in torque (seat of the pants-o-meter).

But still...

I feel you guys' pain!

I have pondered the notion of switching over to a Holley manifold (I run a Victor 5.0 w/ a 1" spacer), but I haven't even seen what my current combo is fully capable of. I have a problem with switching stuff around too much, and not going to the track enough!

Best of luck to ya guys...

Thumbs up

All of you guys will see a big difference with switching to a holley intake.

I suggest going with a Holley intake, and a custom grind cam. That should put you around 300rwhp give or take a few, and of course if you want the most hp potential/increase go with Long-tube headers.

298 at the wheels on a Mustang Dyno is great. That is probably 320 on a Dynojet too.

I have the Holley intake, and yes, it rules.

Hey Drew, The place I went is here in Lafayette called Auto Specialty. He charges $75 to put it on the dyno and $150 with the wide band O2 sensor hooked up. He said the 150 price was for 3 pulls but I ended up getting about 8. I picked up a lot of power by tuning it on the dyno.

Hozer, I think the heads are fine. They will make as much power as AFR's. I think the problem is the cam/intake match. The GT40 is a long tube made to make torque down low and the B-cam wants high rpm's. I would port the lower intake to get ready for the flowzilla and find a cam that will work well with the Kenne Bell. Here is a thread on the corral that talks about that subject. http://www.corral.net/forums/showthr...threadid=59596
