If I am correct, power shifting is when you have the go pedal to the floor when you make your shift. If that's not it, then I have been doing some damage to my car at the track! lol

Hi,
Power shifting is when you change gears without letting go of the gas. Speed shifting I think is when you change gears without disengaging the clutch (could be dangerous). Be careful though.

I don't normally do this because I don't have a short-throw-shifter and I fear I might miss 3rd gear and screw something up.

Bye!

You have to be able to shift quickly so a short throw shifter is almost a must since the quick shifts could damage your shift forks. You just keep the gas pedal floored and press the clutch in and shift as quick as you can.

I powershifted my way to my fastest ET last time at the track. It gained me 2 tenths. After making 2 runs like this my clutch began to slip a bit so my second run while power shifting was not so good. Do it with caution.

It will take some practice. Every spring I seem to start over. Just power shifting 3-4. Then eventuall the 1-2 and 2-3 come along with faster 1/4 times. The 2-3 is only easy with the short shifter!

Good luck
