EXHAUST LEAKING.....EGR TUBE?

Please help!!! I am going to ****ing loose it if I don't find out where this leak is coming from. I replaced the gaskets with Earl's because I thought that was the problem. I checked where H-pipe meets header and the O2's. Has anyone ever had the pipe that connects to the back of the heads leak before? It sounds like it is coming from behind the engine. Any ideas?

Well lets see, i was having the same problem you are having. I took my complete exhaust off looking for the leak. I will tell u to check your header gasket again. what i ended doing was installing to sets of mister gasket ultra seal. Two on each side, and that fixed the problem. Good luck.

I had the same problem and a guy at the track told me there's a vaccuum tube or something that goes into the back of the engine, close to the firewall, and the gasket has a tendency to go bad. It's supposed to be a real pain in the a** to get at, and it makes a sound like a whistle when you turn your car off. It wasn't bad on my car, I just needed to make sure I used a deep 3/4 inch socket to tighten the x pipe to the headers as it tightens much more than the stock h pipe. It sounds stupid now but it drove me crazy all last summer.
