If I remember correctly the original ones are riveted in, so yes, you have to take the inside of the door panel off. You'll need a drill, and various screwdrivers and chisels, and also a hammer would be helpful.

well, that was probably the easiest job i've ever done on my car, short of changing the oil http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

just took off the speaker grill, armrest, and door handle bezel, then removed the door trim and my door handles were bolted, so i unbolted them, unhooked it from the rod and put the new ones on http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

ahhhhh, i love it when working on the car goes right w/o any hitches http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/biggrin.gif

i bought a new door handle for my driver side last summer...passanger side needs one know...can you tell the diff between plastic and the metal ones?

tap it w/ a piece of metal, if it dings, then its metal, if it thunks, its plastic

also, you can bend them just a little w/ hand pressure if its plastic, just pull up reallll hard and you'll feel it bend a bit
