If I remember correctly the original ones are riveted in, so yes, you have to take the inside of the door panel off. You'll need a drill, and various screwdrivers and chisels, and also a hammer would be helpful.

i'm pretty sure mine are screwed on, i looked under there a few days ago (too cold right now) and it looked like philips head screws

well, that was probably the easiest job i've ever done on my car, short of changing the oil http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif
just took off the speaker grill, armrest, and door handle bezel, then removed the door trim and my door handles were bolted, so i unbolted them, unhooked it from the rod and put the new ones on http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif ahhhhh, i love it when working on the car goes right w/o any hitches http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/biggrin.gif ------------------ SHaFTed |
i bought a new door handle for my driver side last summer...passanger side needs one know...can you tell the diff between plastic and the metal ones?

tap it w/ a piece of metal, if it dings, then its metal, if it thunks, its plastic
also, you can bend them just a little w/ hand pressure if its plastic, just pull up reallll hard and you'll feel it bend a bit http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/biggrin.gif ------------------ SHaFTed |
