Oil consumption question in 88gt

Hi guys.

My car flat out runs crappy http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/frown.gif Engine is in terrible shape I suspect. Ill conduct an oil change and consistently about 1400 miles later my oil light goes on and I have to add more oil...

I have noticed a small drip where the front of the tranny meets whatever it meets..

Why is my engine consuming so much oil? The exhaust doesnt blow smoke.

How many miles on the car? Probably needs to be rebuilt. Are you sure its dripping motor oil, not tranny fluid? I'd run a compression test and check your spark plugs for oil, if everything is fine then you need to get that leak looked at before you completely fry the motor.

If the drip truly is coming from the "front" of the transmission I'd say you have a blown rear main seal. Is there lots of oil on the undercarriage of the car from the trans back? A blown seal actually leaks more while your running down the road, under pressure than when it is sitting in your driveway.
