attn. all sn 95 guys with abs! i got a question

my buddy is dropping the rear end out of his 95 cobra and we can't figure out how to take the abs sensor out of the backing plate there are no plugs or anything to disconnect it. the thing just looks like it is pressed into the back plate... will a hammer take it out or is there a trick to takeing it out?
thanks in advance

Hi,

Hold off on the hammer..

I'm looking at the service manual for my 95 Cobra and it says that the Rear brake anti-lock sensor must be torqued to 40-60 lb-in when installed. (I'm assuming it is not pressed in if it requires to be torqued when re-installed) It warns that the sensor must come out before the axle is removed.

The whole section on the rear end shows a long list of specialty tools needed for disassembly and re-assembly..

Good luck guys.

I was thinking the ABS sensor is actually a "Torx" type bolt itself, you might try a "reverse" Torx drive tool to back it out. When a guy did my gears, he said the ABS wouldn't budge, it was seized up, which leads me to believe it had to be turned to be removed. Ask around...
