Retro-fit roller cam for 358
I need some insight here. The motor has AFR 185's, 1.6 roller rockers, 10.5+ comp., TFS intake, 36lb. injectors, 70mm TB, 76mm C&L w/pipe, also vortech fuel rails and braided lines front to rear. There's no problem with anything else just a decision on which cam to use. The rev limiter is not a concern anymore, but the motor still has it's factory rods. It needs to be semi-close to being emissions legal as well. Thanks.

Wow! I have beeen thinking all day about different combinations for a 351W and outside of the displacement and injector size I came up with the same setup exactly. Man I wish you had that in a car at the track to tell me what my car could do with a similar setup ;)

Looks like I'll call a few people and find out. Thanks.

More info please...
In order to help you with a selection of cam,it would help if you would say what type of rpms' your gonna run this motor to 5500,6000,6500 maybe?
Who built this particular motor?Usually engine builders have an idea as to what cam would work best with this particular motor and the rest of your vehicle combination such as ,are you using a automatic transmission,5-speed etc etc, just need abit more info.Trust me,the cam manufacturer's are gonna ask you the same basic questions such as rpm ranger of the engine, weight of vehicle, transmission your gonna use, etc, etc. |
