How do I use this thing?
I just got a orbital polisher for Christmas and need some tips on how to use it. I have never used one before and I dont want to do any damage to my paint job.
I was going to put this in the other forum but I thought I would get more input in here. Thanks! |
Hey, i've been a professional detailer for years so I hope I can help you. If you got just the orbital buffer and it's not a high speed buffer than it's almost impossible to mess your paint up. Just put a little wax on the bonnet, and go over your whole car with it. Remember that you don't need a lot of wax because it will just build up and be harder to get off. And a quicker way of getting the wax off is to put on a clean bonnet on and go over your car that you just waxed, and it should come off instantly. You'll still need to take a dry towel to all of the hard to get areas. Another tip: Going over your windows and windshield with wax with make them look clean plus it will act like rain-X. Keep it clean!!

wax on your windows?? never heard of that. but your a detalier and would know about those "secret" things!

If you are just waxing, no biggie
If you are using a polishing compound, careful over corners. Like the edge of your rear spoiler, or the corners of the hood, or gaps in the door edges... these can be buffed too much and burn thru paint. |
ditto
I got one of those thingies too! was about to post the same question!
